The St. Francis Missal—a legendary 12th-century manuscript and relic of touch of St. Francis of Assisi—is being exhibited at the Walters Art Museum for the first time in 40 years, after a two year conservation project to rebind and stabilize the artifact. The St. Francis Missal is an intimate exhibition that features approximately 17 objects, including manuscripts, paintings, ivories, ceramics. The dramatic lighting is meant to resemble a medieval church. While the earth-tone red is similar to the new leather binding on the Missal and is used to call out objects in each case.
